Sheikh Kamal IT Training and Incubation Park is going to be established in 64 districts of the country in four steps. Of these, work in 19 districts is in progress under two projects. Already, work in 19 districts, including Rangpur, Comilla, Sylhet, Barisal, Netrokona and Chittagong, is nearing completion.Approval has also been given to set up Sheikh Kamal IT Training and Incubation Parks in 14 more districts with government funding.Hitech Park authorities held a virtual meeting on Monday to explore the possibility of setting up Sheikh Kamal IT Training and Incubation Parks in the remaining 32 districts.During the meeting, State Minister for ICT Zunaid Ahmed Palak was briefed on the progress of the ongoing project, including various feasibility studies.In addition to Niaz Mohammad Zeaul Alam, senior secretary of the ICT department, Bikarna Kumar Ghosh, managing director of the Hi-Tech Park Authority, was also present.The meeting was informed that these parks will be set up in 7 districts of the Dhaka division, 6 each in Chittagong and Khulna, 5 in Rajshahi, 3 in Barisal and 2 in Mymensingh and Rangpur divisions. The remaining 32 parks will be in Sylhet.The feasibility of setting up these parks has been estimated at a total cost of Tk 4 crore 89 lakh 35 thousand.The meeting also highlighted the implementation progress of the proposed projects titled 'Establishment of Sheikh Kamal IT Training and Incubation Center (14)'. The meeting was informed that among the ongoing projects, after purchasing land in Kashiani Upazila and Habiganj Sadar for Gopalganj, it is in the process of registration and proposals have been made to the Land Ministry and along with Dhaka Deputy Commissioner for Nawabganj to get khas land in Madhupur, Tangail.He further said that in the same way, administrative approval has been obtained to get land in Parashuram of Feni.
